Task 2

Baby/ Toddler

I think this is an appropiate art style for this age range of baby/ Toddler because, of the simplistic elements and the friendly colour scheme.

The key elements that would be important for this age/range and genre of books would be how the illustration of an object is drawn, for example one bold outline with block colours with a cartoony feel to it. Also the typeface should be playful and bold.

This illustrataion is slightly more detailed and more is going on, but it was the illustrations of children in a school made me think that the age target for this book would be 3 - 6 year olds. It teaches this target audience what school is all about.

The key elements are to look at the characters would be the first thing. How much is drawn into one picture and the objects that the audience of that age are familiar with.

Aimed at 9 - 11 year olds

The art style is very detailed and realistic so it would'nt be aimed for the younger genre of audience. The colour scheme is sophisticated and the storyline is a little more serious.

Key elements to find would be how much text is on the page. If the typeface looks sohisticated and laid out in parasgraphs, then this would be for the more advanced child. The colours are of a variety of tones and the realism of the illlustration is strong.
